BLOGSTALKING: ASSIGNMENT 11 - MY FAVORITE INVENTION(S) OF THE 20th CENTURY

20th Century = 1900 - 1999

I can never pick just one thing as my favorite so I'll just go down the century in order of invention:

1902:
Willis Carrier invents the air conditioner.
1902:
The birth of the Teddy Bear.
1913:
The Merck Chemical Company patented, what is now know as, ecstasy.
1940:
Peter Goldmark invents modern color television system.
1941: Konrad Zuse's Z3, the first computer controlled by software.
1943:
Richard James invents the slinky.
1946:
The microwave oven invented by Percy Spencer.
1947:
Mobile phones first invented. Although cell phones were not sold commercially until 1983, AT&T came up with the idea way back.
1961:
Valium invented.
1968:
The computer mouse invented by Douglas Engelbart.
1970:
The floppy disk invented by Alan Shugart.
1973:
The ethernet (local computer network) invented by Robert Metcalfe and Xerox.
1974:
The post-it note invented by Arthur Fry.
1974: Giorgio Fischer, a gynecologist from Rome, Italy, invents liposuction.
1983: First Cabbage Patch Kids sold.
1990:
The World Wide Web/Internet protocol (HTTP) and WWW language (HTML) created by Tim Berners-Lee.
1998:
Viagra® invented.
